Did you have eyelid surgery as well? It looks like a freshly sutured incision over your upper eyelids in the photo. Even if you only had your UPPER eyelids operated on, you can often get bruising and swelling under your eyes. A bit of swelling w/ Cosmelan is normal, but yours is definitely on the more extreme side. Ask your surgeon or clinician who applied the Cosmelan to differentiate between normal swelling from Cosmelan and a possible reaction. I have never seen bruising from Cosmelan.
It appears you are allergic to something in the Cosmelan and most likely it's the hydroquinone. This is rare but it is what I suspect. See a physician for a prescription and a kenalog shot quickly. I would advise against using a product which has expired. The product contains hydroquinones which should definitely not be used after it expires.
