I had neck lipo and chin implant done about 3 weeks ago. I have to wear a compression garment for my neck but it goes over my chin as well. Im actually not sure if its supposed to go over my chin or not. Should it be going over the chin? Im scared of the garment moving the implant with the constant pressure.
Answer: Will compression garment move chin implant? Dear whiteroseIt is always best to ask your surgeon as he or she knows what technique was used. In general, at 3 weeks, the neck might still benefit from compression but the chin will likely not need any more support. It also depends on what type of chin implant was used and how it was secured in place. The likelihood is that at this point you have a stable result.

Answer: Will compression garment move chin implant? #chinimplant #facialimplant Thank you for your question. My best answer would be to discuss this question with your surgeon as only he/she knows what happened during her surgery. I am hopeful that the garment your surgeon gave to you, is the correct one to wear in the postoperative period. That being said the commercially available support garments which covered the neck and chin should not harm your chin implant. These garments are intended to help reduce the swelling in this area and also help to prevent the shifting of the chin implant and tell it is properly healed.I hope that this helps!-David Gilpin

Answer: Will compression garment move chin implant? It's always best to check with your operative surgeon about postoperative management after A chin implant and neck liposuction. In our practice, we do not use compression garments for weeks on end. We place two drains there which are left intact for two days after the procedure and are then removed. As long as the chin implant was put in a precise pocket, is very rare for it to shift.

Answer: Will compression garment move chin implant? Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over 30 years. You should follow the instructions of your Chin Implant Surgeon. I do not use or allow compression garments to go over the chin area following chin implant placement. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face looks short, de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a "double chin". Proper placement of a silastic chin implant adds forward projection to the chin thereby creating harmony and balance to the lower face. Using the same incision, liposuction can be performed to reduce the fat and further shape the neck. Excess skin, from below the chin, can also be removed through the same incision. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty (requires extensive tissue dissection, bone cuts and placement of metal screws and plates to secure the cut segments of bone). I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. Hope this helps.
