Soft spongy lump by mouth (Photo)

Question

I recently had a neck & jowl lift a month ago. The doctor did a fat transfer to my cheeks, line from nose to corner of my mouth, and lips. I have a soft spongy lump on the corner of my mouth. It looks just awful. When I smile it’s down right embarrassing. My top lip is still not completely straight yet when I smile on the same side. The procedure from the lift or fat transfer did not affect my bottom lip. I know time will not fix the spongy lump. Help.

Hi there, it takes up to a year for things to settle before you see the final results of your surgery, especially when it comes to facial procedures. That being said, you can follow up with your surgeon to clear your concerns about any lumps and bumps following surgery. It may be that some of the fat from the transfer has decided to deposit into the area, but a follow-up appointment with your doctor will provide you with a definitive answer.
