Will 2000 grafts be enough to get full beard outline coverage? (Photo)

Question

Hello I am of Asian decent and I really want a beard pattern on my face. I do not care about density or thickness. I just really want the outline of a beard to look less baby face. I saw a few pictures online that looks great with only 1200-1300 grafts (so they say). Is this realistic? I have a very similar face to these guys and I love their new beard. I am willing to do 2000 grafts. Will I get at least a full area coverage like them? If not what is more realistic? Thanks!

If it looks good enough with 1200 grafts, then you can consider 1200 grafts.  Why would you want more? (Unless you want to pay more)  Do you not believe the photos?Numbers do not always mean good results.  It's the doctor's experience and aesthetic abilities.

2,000 grafts for both sides is probably on the low side.  However, men do have different beard density patterns.  Your best bet is to find a reputable hair facility to guide you.  Other good questions like yours is answered in the attached video.  Good luck!

it is better to consult a doctor that has experience in beard transplant in person or via Skype to get a better idea of the size of the area and the thickness and caliber of your hair.  For Beard transplant one hair grafts are used to give a natural look, therefore to have 1200 for large area will not look good. I recommend at least 2000 grafts to get better coverage and look natural.

The answer greatly depends on your donor hair.  In general though, these numbers may be considered a reasonable guide:350-500 grafts Moustache

600-700 grafts Cheek (one side) or Goatee

200-250 grafts SideburnsIndividual patients WILL VARY though! - so pick a surgeon by their experience, NOT by the numbers of grafts!Good luck!

So much depends on the area and shape of the beard you want. If you need mustache and goatee, coverage of the cheeks and you have fine scalp hair, 2000+ grafts are the better bet. An in person consultation would help determine the numbers and cost. Usually a touch up session is recommended so there is no great downside to a smaller initial session.
