We were one of the FDA sites for velashape and I can attest its a great machine for body smoothing and minor tightening and we find it very helpful after liposuction for smoothuing. However, its not a great device for neck fat. For a non-invasive approach, Kybella works well. For a minimally invasive approach, some form of liposuction is your best bet. Energy based additions to liposuction such as Facetite or laser lipo help with skin tightening but this should not be a major concern in a 19 year old as your skin should have good elasticity.
It is not unusual to have pain after the velashape treatment. It may be due to dehydration and skin tightening. Therefore, it is recommended to hydrate after the velashape and moisturize the area that has been treated.
