Hard lump on the forehead still apparent 8 weeks after having Botox. Dr. who performed the treatment has no answers Help please?

8 wks ago I had Botox on my forehead. 2 days after a hard lump on my forehead appeared. I've had Botox 2x before and never had issues. I contacted my Dr. and he said he hasn't seen this happen before and was unsure what would cause it. He essentially said there is nothing that can be done and it should go away in a few weeks. Well, it has now been 8 wks and the lump is still there and has not reduced in size. I've reached back out to the Dr. and he replied that there is nothing he can do.

It's most likely a post-injection hematoma, which could take a few months to resolve. If it feels hard like bone, it could quite possibly be an osteoma, which is a bony protrusion caused mainly by head traumas or injuries. Though osteomas grow gradually over time. The best thing for you is to get an in-person examination with an experienced board-certified Facial Plastics surgeon. Best, Dr. Anil Shah

If you only had Botox and not fillers, this is likely a hematoma from the injection which sometimes can happen. It usually resolves on its own but may take months to resolve. You should give it more time. If it seems that it’s persisting, a small amount of Kenalog can be injected to reduce it but try to let the body do its own healing first.

Will settle but can take a while. Gentle massage and gel called thrombophob(heparin gel) can be used and will settle in 2-3 weeks.
