TMJ - is Daxxify better than Botox?

I have TMJ and have been recommended to try Dysport or Botox. I recently heard about Daxxify and am curious if this would be a good option especially if I'm looking for longer-lasting effects. Is this a possible treatment for TMJ?

Thanks for your question. Daxxify can certainly be used for TMJ, as can all brands of 'botox' technically. The important thing when switching from one brand to another is for the dose to be appropriate for the target muscle. Dose is chosen based on the brand, the size and activity of the muscle, and past experience with particular doses. There is always a dose 'range' per area and within that you need to pick a starting dose and then adjust according to that patient's subsequent experience with that dose of that brand- how well did it work? How long did it last? It is important to now also that the units of one brand are NOT INTERCHANGEABLE with the units of another. The video link I am providing can help to explain the difference. Daxxify has a unique peptide which helps it to bind faster and more efficiently, which increases its duration of action.
