After the 1st treatment, a lot of the hair fell out and the area grew patchy with areas with thin hair and areas with no hair. The result from just 1 treatment were a lot more effective than I expected. I just had my 2nd treatment for a full Brazilian laser and now I'm very scared that I won't be able to leave a square patch behind. I want the hair that's left for the square patch to be thinner but not completely gone. Is that still possible??

Answer: Brazilian Regrets Although the results of laser on each patient is different, there should be some hair left especially if you just don't laser part of the area again. The hair in the pubic area is generally very dense and it generally takes more than 2 treatments for it to be completely gone. My suggestion would be to let the doctor know what area you want to have hair remaining so he or she can not laser that area again. Regards, Dr. DiPasquale

Answer: Brazilian Laser Hair Removal Laser hair removal can only have a permanent effect on actively growing hair and not all of the hair is actively growing at the same time. However, the first treatment will be the most dramatic causing all the hair to fall out, whether actively growing or not. On average after six treatments most people have about 60% of the hair gone. If you don't have any more treatments to "the square patch" you should expect to have some thinner lighter hair return. This may take some time as different hair follicles will enter the growth cycle at different times. I hope this helps. -Dr. Z
