Really bad pigmentation after Fraxel treatment. (photos)

Question

I had 5 sessions done of fraxel to my stretch marks. The stretch marks did go from pink to white but the pigmentation left from fraxel is worst. I rather have my stretch marks back. It's been 5 months and no change and I've been on hydroquinone 2% and 4%. No change. Any suggestions? I am desperate. It looks so bad.

Fraxel lasers can cause post treatment redness, itching, 
dryness, and ironically, hyperpigmentation. Early post-laser care is 
vital. I would use a curated combination of Covalent peels, light fractional 
laser, and topical creams to treat the skin after a Vipeel. Start with 
Elevase to help with dryness of the skin. Melarase creams are ideal to 
combat pigmentation.

I would suggest chemical peels, and a stronger lightening cream. The discoloration from Fraxel that rarely occurs, is usually temporary and resolves with treatment. It can take 3-4 months for this to occur, and is best to be treated gently as to reduce chance of worsening the hyperpigmentation.

This can be improved with a combination of lasers, Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an acne scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer
