Would you RETREAT or Extract? I had a TOOTH with a HUGE HUGE infection and I need action (photo)

i advice to go for re root canal treatment. it will save yr tooth. Infection is there [ in apical area], so before implant surgery u have to wait for few months. i  give implant as a last option.

I would not recommend investing further in this tooth. With the advent of dental implants we no longer need to be so heroic in our attempts to save teeth. In order to save your tooth you would have to retreat the root canal, either surgically or removing the post. You would then require a new post and core and probably crown lengthening. After all of that you the prognosis for the long-term viability of the tooth is guarded. If you extract and place an implant you are almost certain of long-term success.Good luck!

Go see an endodontist who will retreat or perform an apicoectomy. This looks eminently reparable!!!!

From the radiograph sent I believe retreating would be my first course of treatment.  It is relatively easy to retreat a root canal on an anterior lateral.  You should be taking an antibiotic and retreat ASAP.Though an implant has a great success rate in this location you will need to remove the tooth and let the bone heal for 3 months before you place the implant.  An immediate implant is not recommended when an infection is present.
