Is it normal to have sharp throbbing pains, 11 months after a breast augmentation?

I got a breast augmentation 11 months ago. I got 800cc silicone implants. I went from an A cup to a DDD. I have been experiencing sharp pains as well as throbbing pains behind my areolas. At times they are tender to the touch and it's not durning my menstrual cycle. I have been massaging them and taking fenugreek and blessed thistle to increase my breast size. Could that contribute to the pain?

Thanks for the question.I think there are several things that could be contributing to your pain.First of all, it is normal to have occasional breast pain for a year after surgery. I think the size of your implants might be contributing to some of the pain involving your areolas. Larger implants stretch the nerves to the areola and can cause some burning pain as the nerve readjusts to the stretching by the implant.The second issue probably involves the use of fenugreek and blessed thistle. Both of these are herbs, so the research about them is not too good. However, fenugreek is used to increase breast size and help produce more milk after pregnancy. Some women report painful swelling in their breasts when they use this herb.My advice is to consider stopping the fenugreek and blessed thistle and see if the pain goes away. That way you will know if these herbs are causing the pain.If the pain is due to stretching of the nerves, the pain should lessen with time.Good Luck.

Thank you for your question. Sometimes not unusual to have pain especially large implants like in your case. It could be because of stretching of tissues, nerves. Please talk to your PS for evaluation
