Least invasive neck lift? Is the potential for nerve damage any less?

I am considering a mini neck lift because it can be done under local anesthesia with sedation. Is it really the least invasive, least risky option? Is the potential for nerve damage any less? Where are the incisions? From what I read, a mini neck lift sounds like it involves mainly liposuction. I don't have much fat to remove under my chin.
