Hello, I am 4 months post op and I have noticed since about 10 days post op I’ve had asymmetry on the right side of my chin (no change/improvement) I don’t know what could be causing this but it’s making me regret the implant (especially since I notice very minimal side profile improvement) I also have skin/muscle dimpling when I move my mouth which I need Botox for now. I’m more insecure now than before. Could the implant being placed unevenly be causing this asymmetry?

Answer: Chin asymmetry Dear a_schwartz, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Chin Implant Asymmetry When it comes to assessing the placement of a chin implant don't guess based on an external appearance.. A 3D CT scan (cone beam) of your chin will provide the definitive visual answer as the implant and its position on the bone will be very clear. (unless it is medpor material which doesn't show up on a scan) Since it appears you may be headed towards chin implant revision and/or removal get the scan which will provide guidance as to what you should do next.
