Can round implants be replaced with teardrop implants? (photo)

Hi Ladydragon.Yes. You can change out round breast implants for tear drop breast implants. Since their approval, I have performed over two hundred primary breast augmentation procedures using shape breast implants they look great. My patients are very happy. I have also done many exchanges for patients for patients where round breast implants have not worked out or were unhappy about the excessive roundness. It is often possible to replace round implants with anatomic, or teardrop, implants at a subsequent operation. 

Yes, tear drop implants can be inserted after round implants are removed. The tear-drop pocket needs to be more snug around the implant so that the implant does not rotate. Therefore the tear drop implant should be as large crosswise as the round implant.
