Dents above eyebrows, 6 days post Botox, will this go away?

Hang in there, this is not your final result of this tiny dose of Botox. I would suggest going back to your injector/physician or seeing another injector.  It normally does take 1-2 weeks for final results with Botox. Botox results typically last 3-4 month after they set in.Good luck. Dr. ALDO

You had a relatively low dose. It can take up to 14 days to see the full results of the Botox treatment. If at that point, you remain unhappy with the positioning of your eyebrows, I would followup with your injector. Eyebrow flaring can be corrected by injecting a small amount of Botox above the arch of the brow. 

Indentations after Botox are from recruitment of other muscles and can be easily treated with Botox but if left alone they will go away

Firstly 10 units of Botox to the forehead and glabella is one quarter of the fda approved dose and would not expect to give dramatic results. Secondly the dents above the eyebrows are common from injectors who are afraid to inject those muscles since they are afraid of eyelid droop. An expert injector who is a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon with lots of experience is best. That’s an easily fixable problem with more Botox. 

Great questions. Botox usually settles in 2-7 days, but for some patients it can take up to 2 weeks to settle. I usually recommend having a follow-up visit 2 weeks after the injection to give it time to work completely. 10 units to treat the forehead and glabella region is a very small amount. The glabella complex can be very strong and take 10-20+ Botox units alone. This may explain why you are still having movement to this area.  Regarding your question about indents above the brow arch that look like "devil's horns"- there is something called "Mr. Spock" or Mephisto sign" that can occur in some patients. Without seeing your photos, I am assuming this is what you are talking about. This is usually caused when the provider injects in the central area only- this means the center of the brow drops, but leaves the lateral aspect of the brow to lift-resulting in the devil's horn appearance. I would recommend going back to the injector for a touch-up. Sometimes a 1/2-1 unit can be placed to soften this.

That is a great question! I typically see my patients 2 weeks after botox, especially ones that I am treating for the first time. During that time, the lines may continue to soften on their own or you may need your injector to place a few more units in that area during your follow up. If it continues, it is usually an easy fix with an experienced injector. 

It can take up to 2 weeks to see complete results from a Botox treatment. Patience is important during this time. If after 2 weeks there is still some unwanted movement in the treated areas, adding additional Botox may be necessary to achieve a satisfactory result.
