I received my first belly button piercing 2 months ago and it was doing perfectly fine until about 3 or 4 weeks ago when a keloid appeared that seems to be getting bigger and my belly seems as if it’s closing up a little. I’ve been using tea tree oil but that doesn’t seem as if it’s working

Hidef protocols can help with keloid and hypertrophic scars on the face and body. Surgery is often not needed if lasers are introduced. 
In our office, we combine treatments starting with topical pre-conditioning of the scars with Plato's Scar Serum for hypertrophy and Melarase PM for pigmentation. Fractional RF, laser, and micro fractional RF can help limit scar growth. Kenalog IIT can also help reduce scar thickness.

I would discontinue using the tea tree oil as it may continue to agitate the tissue and piercing, and would instead utilize saline salt soaks to relieve the skin. I would avoid touching the piercing and area as well. If the swelling persists, I would consider removing the piercing and allowing the healing bump to dissipate on its own. If a scar persists afterward, I would then seek a board-certified expert to inject ketorolac into the tissue to minimize its size. In the meantime, I would recommend that you follow up with an APP piercer in your area, then seek a board-certified expert if it does not resolve.
