Can you safely remove bulging forehead veins?

I have two veins in the centre of my forehead that pop when I laugh/ bend forwards or lie on my side. I'm self conscious whenever I laugh or am in a position I know they are visible. What are the risks of them being removed surgically? Thank you for your help!
