How many CoolSculpting sessions can you have in one area?

Most patients require a second treatment 2 to 3 months after the first to see better outcomes. For best results with Coolsculpting, a combination approach is needed. I recommend adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish, truSculpt iD, Venus Legacy, and Exilis Ultra for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing. If you still have specific problem areas that do not respond to non-invasive treatments, a VASER Hi-Definition Liposuction procedure with ThermiRF, Renuvion (J-Plasma), and InMode BodyTite may be needed to give more fat removal, contouring, skin tightening, and definition. You are fortunate that you achieved your desired results after a single treatment session on your love handles and outer thighs. However, after three treatments on your inner thighs, it is unlikely you will see any additional improvements. It might be time to explore alternative treatments for this area, such as liposculpture, which can be a fantastic way to sculpt and get rid of excess fat in the inner thighs. I advise you to see a board-certified physician that specializes in body contouring treatments for an in-person examination and the right treatment recommendations for you.

We usually recommend 3 sessions of treatment for best result. If you not seeing any result, the problem may not be just excess fat. Consider other approaches after further evaluation of the area.

CoolSculpting is the Gold Standard for fat reduction.  CoolSculpting really works and the side effect profile is extremely rare.  We have 4 devices in our Orange County dermatology office and have been using it for over 10 years!   Coolsculpting is the first device Allergan (the makers of Botox) has purchased which also gives it a lot of credibility.That being said, I have found that the inner thighs is a more challenging area to treat due to the laxity of the skin in this area.  If you look better when you use your hand to pull up on your skin in this area, it may not improve a lot with CoolSculpting.

You sound like the ideal candidate for Coolscupting.  But if your inner thighs were treated in the same area all three times I would not continue to treat again with coolscupting.  I would have the area re-evaluated to determine if the issue is fat or laxity.  If fat is the issue I also use Kybella or liposuction in this area.   Laxity is a more difficult issue and may require surgery by a plastic surgeon.   hope this helps.

Typically it may be needed to have more than one session on an area treated with Coolsculpting in order to get to your goal results, and that would be determined after 3 months from the previous session.  However, if there was no response after 3 sessions, it does not sound like it would be useful to continue to treat that same area with CoolSculpting.  You may not be responding if you do not have enough subcutaneous fat in that area - if you have more fibrous tissue or even just more muscle in that area, you may not see results from CoolSculpting, which simply just treats subcutaneous fat.  I hope that helps!
