I am 3 days post treatment - erbium Yag laser. Is this normal or should I be concerned? (photos)

Thank you for your question and photos. An Erbium YAG laser usually requires at least one week of recovery time, as this is an intense treatment designed to produce dramatic rejuvenation effects. After the procedure, you can see the treatment area turn darker and crusting is normal depending on the energy settings. It is possible the treatment has created some damage that may need to be addressed with topical medications or other treatments. I would need to see you in person for a specific assessment. I encourage you to contact your doctor to schedule a follow-up examination to ensure your recovery is proceeding normally.  A careful post-laser topical regimen is very important to minimize side effects.

I recommend a formal evaluation by your doctor. Hyperpigmentation and inflammation after your laser procedure is common. I don't know what you were treating and what exact laser was used. This doesn't appear to be a normal reaction. I guess you were treating vessels. I usually use a 532 or 585 laser and not a 1064. I think you need to see your doctor and get evaluated. Steroids might be needed and retin a.
