6 months post op, is this extra skin? Pseudobursa? Revision or should I find another doctor? (photos)

I had a tummy tuck 6 months ago I have one side very noticeably bigger than the other very soft and on that side and a tiny deep sore spot about the size of a quarter.Revision Is scheduled for exactly one year from my last procedure is it possible this is a pseudobursa or just loose skin? if a pseudobursa is found will it be removed? My dr said I had a lot of scar tissue and my skin was very stiff and hard to pull she's giving me a revision but says there's absolutely no guarantee advice please

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Overall your tummy tuck result looks fairly good. In order to make an assessment on the outcome of a surgical procedure we really need to see before and after pictures. In the pictures you’ve posted you clearly have had liposuction of your midsection that did not include your back. If the liposuction was done before the tummy tuck then I can clearly understand why your surgeon had a hard time with the skin.

Liposuction creates a diffuse network of scar tissue that makes the skin and fat layer far less flexible with less elasticity than virgin tissue.

This can lessen or hamper the ability to successfully remove a significant amount of loose skin during the procedure.

If the liposuction was done at the same time as the tummy tuck then that would not have an affect.

I don’t quite understand the concept of pseudobursa or that term. Sometimes patients form fluid collections called seromas especially if the drains are removed prematurely or if drains are not used.

If you want a proper second opinion then I suggest having in person consultations with other local board-certified plastic surgeons. If you opt for that which is the correct way to get a proper assessment then please bring before and after pictures and a copy of your operative report.

If you don’t have before and after pictures then ask your surgeon to forward the ones they took.

If you’re going to have revision surgery then you may want to consider including liposuction of your back and under arms to get a natural even fat distribution on your torso.
