Nose looks long 8 months post-op - will it shorten over time?

I had my rhinoplasty 8 months ago and it looks very long at the tip. I'm mostly please with the results but my nose looks really long when I smile and from particular angles. I am wondering if my nose will shorten over time or is this it? I spoke with my surgeon and he's happy with the results and agreed to look further into it if I continue to feel unhappy. I would like a second opinion.
