Can at home laser hair removal machines be used on breasts?

Hello I just got a at home laser hair removal machine Silk’n infinity. I wanted to ask if it is safe to use on breasts? I know If you got to a professional laser place they do laser on breast and it’s safe. But if you have one for home is it okay? This machine uses IPL and Galvanic energy Thank you

I suggest looking up their website for more information and seeing an expert for an evaluation. Diode, alexandrite and yag lasers work best. It will take a series of treatments to get improvement. Best, Dr. Emer.

Hello, thank you for your question.  Not knowing the brand of device or the energy being emitted by the device, it is impossible to answer.  The reasons why it is safe to use a laser device on the breast area at a physicians office, is the technician can adjust/change the wavelength and energy to accommodate for the "pigment" in the areola area of the breast.  The areola has darker pigmented than the surrounding breast tissue.  With lasers, the pigment in the skin determines wavelength and energy.  You might start with being careful in the areola area or avoiding it all together.Good Luck!
