What to expect after sclerotherapy to remove facial veins?

Although small superficial veins in the face CAN be treated in the face, this does not mean they SHOULD be treated in the face with sclerotherapy. There are more efficacious ways to treat facial veins, telangiectasias, spider veins, etc such as with IPL.  You should be evaluated by a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist to assess the feasibility of laser treatments to your face.

Because of the differences in blood pressure, the face usually experiences much less staining than the legs do. Go to your follow up and ask your doctor to remove any trapped blood or, better yet, go to someone who does it all the time and will guide you through the process without your wondering...

Thank you for your question. Sclerotherapy for facial veins is very risky, and I do not recommend it. I recommend laser therapy as the risks of serious side effects are much lower. Afterwards, you will need to limit sun exposure and exercise for a few days. Make sure to see a physician that is familiar with laser techniques for facial veins to prevent side effects.
