I have psoriatic arthritis. Safe to have laser treatment?

I have Psoriatic Arthritis and am currently on a biologic called inFLIXimab (Infelctra). This can lower the immune system, will I be safe to have a laser treatment such as fraxel? Will I heal normally?

This should be fine as long as you are cleared by your Doctor. Keep in mind, it can take several weeks for results to settle after a laser treatment. I always combine lasers with microneedling/prp to get more of an outcome. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Hello,Generally speaking, yes.  However, there needs to be a "triage" to make sure that you are medically cleared based upon your overall health, ability to heal, clearnance from your primary physician etc.  All patients in our practice must undergo the triage prior to an ablative treatment (deep fractionated) as well as be placed on prophylactic medications to help minimize an adverse reaction to the treatment.  We have treated one patient on your same medication with ablative and non-ablative (breaking skin vs. non) without any adverse events and successfull healing and outcomes.
