Age 24, male, should I go for hair transplant or forehead reduction? (Photos)

Hi doctors. Im a young guy 24 years old. I really have a BIG forehead and it makes me really insecure about it. I have been thinking about getting a hair transplant or forehead reduction. The hair transplant specialist says its better to get a hair transplant. But the plastic surgeon doctor says its better to get a forehead reduction surgery? What do u think its better for me? Thank you

Thank you for your question about getting a forehead reduction or a hair transplant; in my professional opinion, as a plastic surgeon and hair transplant surgeon. I would suggest hair transplantation. It appears you have a good set of hair and many hairs that can potentially be donors. I suggest at least 2 or 3 hair grafting sessions to fill in the temporal areas and upper forehead and reestablish your hairline. Therefore, my vote is hair transplantation over forehead reduction. It appears from the photos that you are also experiencing some receding in the temples and at the anterior of your hair line. I would suggest transplant first to stabilize your hair line and fill in the temple area. After waiting a minimum of 8months if you wish to further reduce your forehead you could consider a forehead reduction surgery. What you don't want to do is have a forehead reduction and then have an unstable receding hairline that leaves the forehead reduction scar visible.

As i observed, you can benefit from hair transplant in the long term. If you choose to get a transplant now to lower your hairline, it will make your forehead look smaller. 
But if you still find yourself unsatisfied with the results, you always have the option of a reduction. We always would like to suggest solutions that don't require surgery first, and if the patient is unhappy, surgery is the permanent solution that you are seeking for.
