Looking at your photos, it appears you would be a good candidate for rhinoplasty surgery. I would recommend a consult with a board certified rhinoplasty specialist. He or she will be able to evaluate your nose in person and provide you with advice. Computer imaging software may be used to morph a photo of you, which will give you an idea of how the final result of surgery may appear. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck.
I read your concerns and reviewed your photos:You appear to have relatively thick skin, with a wide bulbous tip, and wide nostrils. Well-performed rhinoplasty surgery may be considered to achieve improvement in the appearance of your nose.Hope this helps you.Dr. Joseph
Yes, you are a good candidate if you have realistic expectations. Since you have fairly thick skin, you will not be able to achieve a very defined tip, although you could certainly expect some significant improvement. Also, you will have prolonged swelling that will likely last more than a year and will require some post operative steroid injections to manage. You bridge should be narrowed, and you should have an alar base reduction to reduce the flare of your nostrils. The most important thing you can do is to see someone who specializes in rhinoplasty and has experience in ethnic rhinoplasty specifically. Best of luck.
The dorsum, tip, and alar base can be narrowed and refined to produce a more balanced nose.Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of rhinoplasties and rhinoplasty revisions each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA
I think the details are important, and that is why a consultation and discussion with someone face to face is always better than the virtual world. Remember, a rhinoplasty is 3-D operation, and no matter how many pictures you take, they will always be 2-D. That being said, improvement is possible, and I think that would be the case with you as well. Of course, you have to be able to articulate the specifics, which is often hard to do outside of a consultation.
Yes you could be a good candidate for full rhinoplasty. Best to obtain a few IN PERSON evaluations from boarded surgeons in your area.//
You would be a great candidate for a rhinoplasty procedure. The majority of the work would be in your nasal tip to create more definition and narrow the tip. There is a slight flare to your nostrils so you would benefit from narrowing the width of your nostrils (also known as an alarplasty). The bridge of your nose should be narrowed along as well. You do have thicker nasal skin so you should expect a longer period of swelling of the nasal tip before seeing your final result at 12 to 18 months.
Tip reduction or narrowing is one of the most common indications for rhinoplasty. Consult with a surgeon who can show you multiple before and after photos as well as perform computer imaging to give you an idea of what you can expect. Good Luck!
The rhinoplasty procedure can address reduction of the bulbous tip with a combination of suture techniques to the lower lateral cartilages and a conservative cartilage removal of the tip. Osteotomies are required to narrow the sidewalls and any dorsal hump would also be shaved down as well. An alar plasty is required to narrow the wide nostrils. Closed rhinoplasty techniques as an outpatient procedure can accomplish these goals. For more examples, please see our rhinoplasty photo gallery link below
You are actually a very good candidate for a rhinoplasty. One of the most important things a great nose does is to provide an overall balance to the rest of the face (the next time you look at someone with a great nose you'll realize that you don't notice their nose at all- it's the rest of the features on their face that you see) . Your primary issue is that your nose does not provide balance to your face.Your nose is somewhat wide and tends to dominate the other features on your face. Narrowing the nose and refining the tip would change the overall shape of your nose so that it would be in balance with the rest of the your face. This would not only make your nose look "prettier", but would draw attention towards the other, very attractive features on your face (your eyes, chin, and lips). Make an appointment with a well respected, experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who does computer imaging as a routine part of their consultation process. The combination of being able to see what you may look like after your procedure, along with before and after photos of recent rhinoplasty patients should give you a good idea of what you can expect. Good luck.
Yes, it is way too early. I usually tell my patients that they will start to see the changes in their tip at around two months. After that, it will still take several months for complete healing to be complete, particularly in patients with thicker skin.
If you did not hit things off with your first consult you should not feel that you need to travel a long distance for a great result. LA might be the land of dreams, but perhaps Chicago is within reach.
I see the lower edge of your septum sticks out of your right nostril. This is a very simple thing to fix by cutting out the excess cartilage in that area. However, it may not be the cause of your breathing problem. To diagnose that, you need an internal exam of your nose by either a plastic...
