Yes, it is way too early. I usually tell my patients that they will start to see the changes in their tip at around two months. After that, it will still take several months for complete healing to be complete, particularly in patients with thicker skin.

You will still have a considerable amount of swelling after two weeks. In general, 70% of the swelling is resolved after the first 3 months and the remainder goes down over time. It can take up to 18-24 months to see the final result of your surgery. The nose will continue to change as you heal, and it would be best to give it some time. I would recommend communicating any concerns to your surgeon, as they know the extent of your procedure and exactly what was performed. You are too early in your recovery to judge the lasting results. Because of swelling that normally is present early on it would be premature to consider your rhinoplasty unsuccessful. A minimum of 9 months should pass before considering touch up surgery.

Dear Bridget - many thanks for posting your questionI understand you concerns, but the swelling that your nose demonstrates in your photograph can take 6 months or more to settle.In fact, most plastic surgeons agree that the final result of a rhinoplasty cannot be judged until 1-year post-op.Things will definitely get better, so please try not to worry, and let the swelling settle.Good luck

You certainly have swelling present. Be patient. Most patients will see big differences by 3-4 weeks after surgery. If you still have concerns at that point you should discuss them with your surgeon.

It is normal to have swelling and you will likely not see the final result for about year. Be patient it usually gets better.

Even at 2 weeks there is a noted difference. Maybe you desired more the "done" look. And did not convey this desire to the surgeon..
