Can a revision alarplasty/rhinoplasty reposition the nostrils higher on the cheek? (African American rhinoplasty)

It sounds as though the bottom part of your nostril walls was excised in an attempt to decrease the flare. By so doing, it shortens & straightens the nostril wall and brings it down medially. The correction for this is usually a composite (skin + cartilage) ear graft to replace the excised tissue. I talk about these revision alarplasties on my website. If both nostrils are affected, you would need one graft from each ear to keep things symmetric.

During a revision alarplasty, the surgeon may be able to lift and reposition the base of your nostrils to a higher position on your face, as well as adjust the width across your cheeks. They may need to make a new incision or modify the existing one to achieve the desired changes. The surgeon will consider factors such as your facial anatomy, healing ability, and the extent of the changes needed when planning the revision procedure.
