I have some lines across my forehead I would like treated with fillers, but everything on the internet suggests that neuromodulators are the recommended treatment for horizontal lines. Some sites recommend doing a combination but pure fillers seems to be treated as a non-option for this area. I am not interested in neuromodulators because I do not want to lose dynamic expression, only to treat the static wrinkles. Is there some reason fillers would not work? Will it look unnatural?
Answer: Fillers Can Work Well For Treating Horizontal Forehead "Worry" Lines The short answer to your question is that fillers can and are used routinely by experienced injectors to treat forehead worry lines--i.e. the creases (i.e. static wrinkles or wrinkles at rest) etched deeply into the skin resulting from years of motion of the forehead muscles beneath (dynamic wrinkling). I personally treated three patients with filler for horizontal forehead wrinkles just today, in fact. Since the forehead is rich in blood vessels, you would be wise to seek treatment by an experienced injector. The forehead is not the place for novice, non-physician injectors. Please note that treating the static wrinkles with filler will do little to stop the activity of the underlying muscles to re-form the wrinkles. So, the place for Botox, should you wish it, would be to slow down the muscular process underneath that leads to the development of these horizontal wrinkles. You would be wise to consult with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck.

Answer: Forehead Lines / Wrinkles -- Neuromodulators (Botox/Dysport/Xeomin/Jeuveau), Fillers (Belotero) + Lasers/Microneedling/PRP Neuromodulators (such as Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau) and soft tissue fillers like Belotero can improve the appearance of the forehead by reducing lines, wrinkles and folds. Deeper lines and wrinkles need a combination approach with Botox, fillers, lasers, and microneedling/PRP. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to develop a treatment plan that works for you. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Forehead lines Botox is the preferred product to treat forehead wrinkles. Often times these wrinkles are the result of muscle activity. Botox affects the ability of the muscle to contract, resulting in the softening of the appearance of the wrinkles. Depending on the amount of product used and the placement, you should still be able to animate. The treatment is done in the office with results lasting 3 to 4 months. See an expert injector for treatment.

Answer: Botox is the best recommendation for horizontal forehead lines Hi there and thank you for your question! typically we do not use filler for any horizontal forehead lines due to wrinkles not having enough depth to add volume back to the area. Adding filler to shallow line would make the area look lumpy and uneven, especially with thinner skin in the area. You could always try micro needling or retinol use to help tackle those resting lines if you don't want to be treated with a neurotoxin. Or you could get a light dose of botox across the forehead where you are still able to have movement! Hope this helps!

Answer: Filler in forehead. Risks and benefits. Botox is the standard recommended treatment to treat forehead lines. I and lasts 3-4 months. It is safe, effective, relatively inexpensive and can be performed by injectors with minimal experience. $200 can normally shut down the horizontal forehead lines completely. This may lead to a flat, shinny forehead. A lighter dose of 6 to 12 units is a nice option that relaxes the forehead while leaving natural movement. Fillers in the forehead can provide a beautiful, natural result. Your dynamic expression will not be lost. Treating foreheads with filler does have its risks. There are two important arteries in the forehead that if injected with filler could communicate with the artery for your eye and potentially result in blindness or in a lesser circumstance compromise the circulation to the skin of your forehead. to lessen the risk, I recommend using a cannula with small injections of a soft filler product. Additionally in order to have a natural result the filler needs to be carefully injected in a smooth manner. The forehead space between your skull and the skin is thin and any irregularity of the filler will be very noticeable. Forehead filler will cost around $1,000.00 and last a year.My favourite solution is to combine a light botox and filler. The combination will be superior for a natural, long lasting result. Forehead filler when done by an experienced physician will look amazing . I hope this answers your question and gives you confidence to move forward.
