had 1 syringe of Radiesse put in my cheek area to add on 12/17/17. Radiesse has almost dissolved.I went back in to compare my face to the before pictures. They said they could definitely see the Radiesse had dissolved. They offered to do another syringe for $100 less than I paided in Dec. I'm affraid I will be wasting $500 on top of what I paid in Dec. Is it possibble for Radiesse to dissolve that fast? The 4 years ago I had 2 syringes of it put in my face. I loved it! It lasted a long time.
Answer: How Long Does Radiesse Last? Hi Pooshu. Lots of patients think Radiesse dissolves after injections and that is partly true. Radiesse is made up of calcium microspheres (synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite) suspended in a gel carrier (made of carboxymethylcellulose). The long lasting component of Radiesse is the calcium microspheres and these have been shown to last between 12-18 months. Our expectation for patients is usually 9-12. The reason why Radiesse can appear to be absorbed is twofold. First, Radiesse can cause a lot of swelling. Patient will swell immediately and then be somewhat disappointed when the swelling goes down. The other reason that the effects of Radiesse can appear to lessen is that the gel carrier for the calcium microspheres is absorbed by the body in approximately 6 weeks. So this is the short term component of Radiesse. We are not aware what % of the syringe is made up of calcium microspheres and what % is made up of the gel carrier, but whatever % is made up of the gel carrier will usually be gone after the 6 weeks. The magic of Radiesse, though, is what remains. The calcium microspheres that were placed in suspension not only create long lasting volume, but they also stimulate the body to produce collagen in the injection area. So, there is a short term benefit to Radiesse, but also a longer term benefit. Finally, you mentioned that you were very happy a couple years ago when 2 Radiesse syringes were used. It's very likely that you just need more product and that the second syringe will help a lot more and build on the first. Whether it's Hyaluronic acid based fillers or Radiesse, there are very few patients that use 1 syringe for BOTH cheeks and get appreciable results. The absolute minimum is usually 2 syringes.

Answer: Is it possible for Radiesse to dissolve in less than 1.5 months Radiesse is supposed to last at least 12 months. In my experience, I have never seen Radiesse dissolve. Could it be you did not get enough Radiesse? After the injection of the Radiesse there is a lot of swelling that makes it look like you had a lot put in which when the swelling goes down (may take time) may seem less or could be less.

Answer: Can Radiesse dissolve in less than one and a half months? Radiesse should last longer than a month and a half. The most common reason for not seeing improvement after a facial filler is that not enough was used. Seeing as you had good results 4 years ago with 2 syringes, I would think that you would need at least 2 syringes again to obtain your desired result. I would recommend having the second syringe and you should see improvement.

Answer: Radiesse dissolving Radiesse doesnt ''dissolve'' per se in that timeline...most likely they undertreated the area. Moreover raidesse is biostimulatory so you should expect to see the full effect in the 3 mo post injection time frame. Make sure your doctor is board certified and ask for a second opinion if you have any concerns.
