Is this denting normal? 6 weeks post op tomorrow. 600cc hp silicone. (photos)

Question

Right breast (left in pics) ooks dented on the side if I attempt to wear a normal bra/bathing suit top. Even naked I can sometimes notice a difference or if they're pushed together. Is this normal and will it change in time because I haven't dropped fully or something to be concerned about?

Contour irregularities are common during the early stages of recovery and are often exaggerated with larger implants. I would expect this condition to improve as the tissues mature, It would be appropriate to discuss this with you surgeon as sometimes simple maneuvers such as gentle massage can hasten the changes.

Dear aimeeo6,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD

Good morning!This most likely represents a tight band of muscle arching over your implant on that side- a topless photo would also be helpful for evaluation. Talk to your PS to see if massage might be a reasonable approach or if surgical release might be necessary.

Thank you for your question.Has your surgeon evaluated this issue for you? It is hard to determine what is exactly going on with a picture. There may be a muscle band that needs to be massaged to help relax it in that area. Again, hard to determine through a photo. I would recommend showing your surgeon what is going on in person.

should always be discussed with your surgeon once appreciated as minor things such as massage could be done to help smooth out any irregularities.  If it doesn't go away and its noticeable, your surgeon can always discuss options from which you can choose to help smooth things out such as fat grafting or in extreme cases, returning to the OR for a major revision.  Let your surgeon know of your concerns so he/she can examine you and figure out what it is.  Let your surgeon do your worrying as your surgeon should want the best outcome possible, especially in a small town like ours, where word travels fast!
