hey Dr i have had long red veins in both my eyes in sclera due to overuse of computer which caused dry eyes i am struggling for 2 more months since im out of the country and cannot visit my dr my question is if there is anything that can help get rid of those veins permenantly? Can steroid drops get rid of them for good? im really stressed about them and very worried i know this isnt a serious cosmetic issue but i appreciate any help given since this is the only place i know to ask thx alot Dr

Thank you for your question. Steroids are not something you want to use long term for the eyes. Some find Visine over the counter to be helpful. Less eye strain is key here. You should seek the advice of an ophthalmologist for all of your options. I hope this helps.

I agree that you should see an ophthalmologist as soon as you can. Steroid drops should not be used except under the guidance of this type of physician.

Don't self treat and do not self medicate with steroid drops - you can develop corneal ulcers - schedule an appointment to see an ophthalmologist when you return to your home countrly.
