Male and female bbl difference and bbl for the trans-gendered

Question

How does a bbl performed on a female differ from a bbl performed on a male? Also, can a bbl be performed on trans-gendered people looking to slim down as much as possible while maximizing buttocks size and projection, and creating female contours? Thank you.

Hello and Great Question.  I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure.  My name is Dr. Matthew J. Nykiel.  I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon, and a Butt Augmentation Specialist.
The difference is mainly how we sculpt the torso and shape the buttocks.  In women we are trying to create an hour glass.  In men we are trying to create a V shaped torso with a muscular appearing butt.
However, if you are a man looking to get a woman shape, then we would try to sculpt an hour glass.

Hello,Thanks for your question. The goal of BBL surgery whether you are female or male is to enlarge and reshape the buttocks into a better look. The same goes for a MTF transgendered patient looking for more feminine curves. Obviously there are limitations based on the amount of fat that can be moved around and the baseline anatomy, but nice changes are possible in the right patient. Having done so many of each, this is more dependent upon the individual goals.  You can certainly have liposuction to reduce the waist and transfer that fat to the hips and buttocks.

Thank you for your question. The female and male BBL's differ in the shape and proportions that are being achieved. The female buttocks are more round and projecting, while the waist to hip ratio is less. Often male to female transgender patients ask for these same goals. But I try in individualize the plan for the particular patient to achieve his or her goals. Please consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.

While a BBL is generally considered a female procedure it is not inherently gender specific.
I have performed several BBL's on male patients both gay and straight.
It is perhaps one of the most appropriate procedures for male to female trans gender transformation.
Probably more appropriate for this population than anyone else.
From a technical respective patient selection is still based on the same principle but it may be limited based on the individual persons physiological body shape and fat distribution.
The amount of volume able to be created with a BBL is partially based on the overall size of the buttocks to start with and the amount of fat available to work with.
I recently did a second staged BBL in the mail to female just entered patient.
In her case she had a very masculine body habitus and fat distribution.
She initially came in asking for liposuction of her abdomen.
After an in person evaluation with the physical examination it was clear that in order to achieve the most feminine figure she should have a fat transfer not just liposuction.
In fact in her case, to create the most feminizing figure possible the procedure was staged as two separate procedures fat grafting her buttocks and two separate procedures to maximize possible  volume and has spent over buttocks and tapering her waist and hips as much as possible.
The difference of having added a double BBL with aggressive liposuction to create the most feminine figure possible was in at most success.
The look on her face and a hug she gave me during the last visit was priceless.
With these procedures there's no right or wrong, yes or no.
The procedures are so individually based and the importance of experience, experience, aesthetic judgment and clinical intuition is the difference between disfigurement and life transformation.
Consult with multiple board-certified plastic surgeon who have extensive experience with body contouring including fat transfer procedures.

Nothing substitutes for a personal evaluation and a face to face discussion of your options including a review of your medical history/medications and a face to face discussion of your options.
Unfortunately with out photos or exam of your tissues I can can only comment based solely your photos. However, hopefully you will find them helpful.
The final shape and appearance depends not only fat injection but also shaping the buttock with precise injection of fat but also selective liposuction of the tissue around the buttock. It is very important to convey your SPECIFIC goals and desired shape.
The process for performing a BBL is the same regardless of the patients weight:1) harvest the fat 2) purify the fat3) inject the fat
The amount injected depends on how much fat there is available to harvest.One can try to gain weight prior to the procedure in hope that the areas you can the weight can be liposuctioned.
Caveat: not all fat gained can be liposuctioned.
Please make a appt. with experienced Plastic Surgeon who is Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (denoting by membership as having met additional criteria and a focus on Cosmetic Plastic Surgery).
