Did I ruin my hernia repair? I had a double open hernia repair one side mesh one side without approx 7 weeks ago.

I have been basically pain free for 3/4 weeks and slowly back into yoga and light running with no pain. I was doing some trampoline jumping with my kids for a few minutes at a time. No issues until after the last time jumping and since then have had some dull pain back in the old hernia pain areas and a little on the scars. Is there a good chance I ruined the repair and will have to be re done ?

Pain is not necessarily and indicator of a recurrent hernia, especially in the first year after repair. Hernias heal by laying down scar tissue and this tissue is basically like concrete for the first 6 weeks. After 6 weeks the scar, which is made of protein, begins to reshape and allows more flexibility. Excess activity can cause this scar to pull and inflame. If there is no bulge, then you are probably ok. If the problem persists, return to your surgeon for evaluation. Best of luck.
