Answer: SECONDARY / CORRECTIVE BREAST REDUCTION? I am sorry to hear that you suffered major complications after your breast reduction and that therefore the cosmetic result is disappointing, requiring further surgery. I agree with Dr Pousti that the best and more appropriate way to proceed now will be for you to see a qualified, experienced plastic surgeon to evaluate your choices and chances of success with secondary surgery. Best of luck.Andrea Marando, Manchester, UK

Answer: Will insurance pay for breast augmentation revision procedure? Thank you very much for your question and photograph. I’m sorry to hear that you are dealing with severe complications following your breast surgery. A revision breast augmentation will be able to provide a significant improvement in the appearance of your breasts. However, whether this is covered by your insurance will depend on your individual policy. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. At this time, he/she can perform physical examination to determine the exact set of techniques needed for your revision procedure. Additionally, the office can assist you in determining if this surgery is covered by your health insurance.

Answer: Secondary Breast Reduction and Insurance It could be possible for insurance to cover revisions for breast reduction surgery. It all depends on your specific coverage. The first step would be to find a board certified plastic surgeon who accepts your insurance and whom you would feel comfortable with. His/her office would then send a letter and pictures in to your insurance requesting approval. You will more than likely have some out of pocket expense depending on your personal deductible.
