I'm on 30 mg a day of isotretinoin. I have been wanting a tongue piercing for quite some time and have finally come to start making an appointment to get it only to remember I'm on this medicine. I've read it's not good to get piercings while on it but my derm didn't even mention not getting piercings. Now what can actually happen if I get a tongue piercing while taking isotretinoin?

Thank you for your question. I completely agree that you should not use any acne products while you are on accutane. Your best bet, especially if you are having irritation, is to be gentle. Moisturize with a non-comedogenic cream (Cera-ve is the best over the counter commercial product)....
Pregnancy and accurate are not a good combination. You need to let both your Dermatologist and your OB know immediately so they can properly and completely advise you on the next steps.
