I've got my nose pierced one year ago and am looking forward to do a rhinoplasty. I'm wondering if I would be able to put a nose ring in my nose or should I pierce it again after the surgery?

It is probably best to wait at least 3 months before re- piercing the nose after the rhinoplasty procedure.

It is best to recovery from your Rhinoplasty before re-piercing your nose.  Your Plastic Surgeon will guide you through recovery, and let you know when it is safe to re-pierce.

You will need to have the nose ring out of your nose during the rhinoplasty and after the rhinoplasty is healed will be the time to determine whether you will need it re-pierced, or if you can still use the original piercing. Discuss this with your surgeon at the time of consultation and a proper surgical plan will be made. You may love your new nose without the piercing so I suggest a proper time of healing before any decision is made. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
