Thank you for your inquiry. You have been through a lot and pain is an unfortunate yet not surprising sequela after your difficult course this far. The “staples” are actually small vascular clips used to control bleeding and are likely not the cause of your pain. That said, your plastic surgeon knows you best and from your photos you appear to have an excellent aesthetic result, albeit your pain is an unfortunate problem.
