I had the hair in my inner thigh removed with laser treatment a few hours ago and noticed a lot of scarring. I'd had laser hair removal done in my bikini line (in a different place) and this never happened. Is this permanent? Did it only happen because I didn't shave before the appointment? (Those were the instructions in this particular place.)

Most people need between 6-12 treatments to permanently remove most of the body hair, regardless of the type of hair you have. I find the vast majority of people do great at 6-8 treatments, although some patients come in once yearly for a maintenance treatment.
