At size 34 each 100 grams of removal corresponds to 1 cup size change. To go from a DDD to a C requires 300 grams removal. If you underwent 440 grams removal you would go down 4 ½ cup sizes to a small B or large A. Insurance companies often set these high weight requirements to deter you from doing the procedure. If you are interested in getting a breast reduction, you would be better off paying for it yourself to get what you desire, not what insurance company demands. Breast Reduction is a complicated procedure that is best done by those with the most training and experience. It is very difficult to determine the resultant cup size and shape based solely on the number of grams that are removed from your breast to best match your ideal breast image without an examination by a board certified plastic surgeon. Not just any board certified plastic surgeon, but one with many years of frequently performing breast reduction and lift surgeries, including different approaches, techniques and even fat transfer and implant choices if you are lacking superior breast fullness.This is because several measurements—not to mention breast characteristics such as density—are needed to determine how much and where to remove breast tissue to meet your goals. Without knowing your existing breast shape, dimensions, and the density of your breast tissue, it would be difficult to make this determination. For example, the same volume of breast tissue will weigh different amounts (measured in ounces or grams) in different people depending on its density. Unless you are a very tiny person your breasts are sufficiently large enough to remove 440 grams per side. As best as I can tell 200 grams per side will not make much of a difference. I suspect you need another opinion.

It is difficult to be sure of the weight removal based on just a photograph. Based on the photo, I think you would be more than 250 grams, but less than 440 grams. I think that your end result is more important than the amount removed. ie the correct size for your frame. I find that measurements are different when performed by bra fitters than they are when evaluated by plastic surgeons. If you like the first plastic surgeon, I would discuss the issue further with that person, if you are not sure than get a second opinion to put your mind at ease.

It sounds like you have already answered your question. You were not satisfied with that doctors plans so get another opinion or two. It is totally impossible for any of us to comment on weight to be removed without an examination.

If you undergo breast reduction surgery with removal of 200 grams you'll get the benefits of a lift but not much of a reduction. If your goal is to improve your symptoms caused by breast hypertrophy, then you may want to consider finding a plastic surgeon willing to remove more tissue.
