If you are breast feeding you should wait several months before you do a reduction.  I do not recommend too small of breasts since the most frequent complaint after breast reduction surgery is over reduction.  There is a new technique called The Ultimate Breast Reduction, which uses a circumareola incision and an inframammary incision.  Your breast tissue is reshaped creating upper pole fullness, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage.  The weight of the breast is transferred to the underlying muscle providing immediate pain relief.  Many women believe they have to undergo massive resection to relieve pain but this technique relieves pain while allowing you to choose the size you want and avoid over reduction.  This technique maintains nipple sensation, the ability to breast feed and avoids the ugly vertical scars of the traditional anchor technique.

It would be best to wait until you are back to a stable weight. You should also consider whether or not you plan to have more children. Best to finish having children before breast reduction.The size question is one to discuss with your surgeon, but you certainly have input here.
