I haven't taken Propecia for two weeks after hair transplant. How bad is this?

I've been through a Hair Transplant procedure recently. I've taken propecia for the first 3 weeks but forgot to bring the medication for a 2 weeks trip. Will this 2 weeks affect a lot the hair shock loss? Or I don't have to be really concerned about it?

A 2 week break should not effect you in regards to your surgery, however its important for long term hair loss prevention to take it as directed.

You  can give a break to propecia use, however if you want to see its benefits you have to use it without giving breaks.

It is best to contact your doctor about post operative care and instructions since each doctor has a different regimen.  In general, Propecia will not affect your surgery results.

Thank you for the post. You should be fine if you only missed for 2 weeks as the medication will likely still be in your system. Highly recommended you start the Propecia/Finasteride when you are able to.

Shock loss is not very common.  Propecia does make it less likely and should be taken if possible.  I agree that resuming it at this point is better than just stopping it.  Continued use can also prevent or decrease further hair loss.

The good news is that this drug stay in your system for a week, so actually you only lost a week. Get back on it now and possibly you will not have a negative effect from the mistake
