Your photograph is limited but it appears your eyebrows are lower than the orbital rim. A browlift may be the best procedure for you at this time. This will raise your eyebrows, decrease the vertical height of the forehead and lower your hairline.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
The photo of your left eye shows a well defined upper eyelid crease, with fullness between the tail of the eyebrow and the crease of the eye lid. During facial aging it is common for both the eye brow and upper eyelids to change shape and position simultaneously. Surgery may be required to address both of these structures.I would advise that you see a Plastic surgeon with an interest in facial aesthetics for full assessment of the eye brow and the eye lids. Based on this, an appropriate management plan can be made.
Hello and thank you for your question. A formal evaluation would be needed to determine the best treatment. There are both surgical and non-surgical options to correct this, depending on the situation. For less significant upper eyelid skin excess or more mild improvement, there are nonsurgical treatments: Radiofrequency (Thermage or Venus Legacy/Viva), injectable fillers, and a Botox brow lift can help contour the eyebrows and lift the eyelid skin.Surgery (browlift and/or upper blepharoplasty) is a great option for more significant improvement- for example if the hooded eyelids have more excess skin present. Dr. Donald Groves is an expert facial plastic surgeon that I work with, who specializes in these types of procedures. It is important that if you are considering surgery that you go to someone who is well trained and very experienced with these delicate operations to get the best results. I suggest getting a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert, or an aesthetic facial plastic surgeon like Dr. Groves; we are both located right here in Los Angeles. Best, Dr. Emer
Hello there FH,An upper eyelide blepharoplasty would correct your "hooding", if you are not ready for surgery at your young age then I would recommend lateral cheek filler with something like Voluma. I have found that my Voluma patients appear to have "lifted and bigger" eyes. Make sure to choose your injecting physician expert very carefully!!! Good luck and be well.Michael Persky, MDEncino, CA
Upper eyelid blepharoplasty is typically performed to reduce hooding of the upper eyelid skin. If you have dry eye, this may be a reason to avoid blepharoplasty. Please consider Consulting with several reputable facial plastic surgeons so you could see what might be best for you moving forward. Thank you for your question. Sincerely, Dr Joseph
It appears that you may be a candidate for conservative upper and lower blepharoplasty. Only on the basis of in person consultation an experienced plastic or Oculoplastic surgeon may be able to help you with that decision. Good luck.
Elevation of the upper eye lid is known as ptosis surgery. This is performed when the upper eyelid droops. Alternatively, upper eyelid blepharoplasty surgery is a procedure used to remove excess skin and/or fat from the upper lids. Unless too much skin is accidentally removed, this form of...
Hi there, treatment options will vary from individual to individual, but for concerns regarding the shape and fall of the eyelids, most patients explore a blepharoplasty. While the majority of patients seeking this procedure are 35 or older, if droopy, baggy eyelids run in your family, you may...
Lagopthalmos occurs when too much skin is removed from the upper eyelid and the eye can't fully close. It can also occur due to temporary muscle weakness of the orbicularis eye muscle. I would recommend you follow-up closely with your surgeon. Proper hydration is critical for the eyes to prevent...
