Can I use Minoxidil 5 % for eyebrow regrowth?

I've been diagnosed with Hashimoto thyroiditis for 8 yrs, I'm on Letrox 100 mcg, and hormone levels are normal now, but I'm loosing my eyebrows more. I've heard that Minoxidil help on eyebrow regrowth. Can you please give me an advice? Greetings from Hanna

Some people have tried topical minoxidil for eyebrow hair growth but results seem to be underwhelming.  It is also not approved by the FDA for use on eyebrows.

Eyebrows may or may not improve with minoxidil. Minoxidil is not FDA approved for eyebrows but can be used off label by some patients under supervision of a physician.It could help. Other options like bimatoprost can also be helpful sometimes.Overall, the most fundamentally important aspect is to ensure the thyroid abnormality is corrected. TSH needs to be 0.5 to 4.0 mIU/L for most people go support healthy hair cycling.

Minoxidil has not been effective in regrowing eyebrow hair and we no longer recommend it. However, if you do try it, it will not be harmful. Follow up with your endocrinologist to make sure your TSH levels are acceptable.

Minoxidil is not the best drug for your condition, but it is worth a try. Be careful that it does not run down your face as it can cause hair to appear on your forehead and sometimes your face, as it did my wife.
