Are power ridges an alternative to using attachments in Invisalign?

If you could upload some photos, I could give you a better answer.  Based on what you've reported, I would say that buttons are not required in all cases.  Many cases do very well without them.  If you are very opposed to buttons, then you can discus this with your dentist and he can adjust your treatment plan accordingly.  Any skilled cosmetic dentist or orthodontist can help you with this issue.  Good luck to you and I hope this helps. There are a few
varieties of Invisalign style braces and the placement of any attachments that
they use. Not every tooth has to have attachments, and if it does, the
placement and appearance of the attachment will vary. The power ridges or
attachments will vary based on the type of movement needed as well as the
severity. Many people are able to undergo their complete treatment without
attachments on their teeth, or only have one or two total.

If your problem is relatively minor.  You may consider a removable appliance or lingual braces.
