Post Gallbladder Removal: Feeling Sick and Leakage from Inside Belly Button?

I had my gallbladder removed 2.5 months ago. My top three incisions healed very nicely but the incision at my belly button took forever to heal because of infection. So, I was fine for a few weeks but then a few days ago inside my belly button ( not the incision) there was discharge that was yellow and bloody and smelled awful. There's also a hole inside my belly button. Any ideas what this could be?

Tape applied to the skin will create a shear force as swelling builds up in the tissues. This can fully epidermis away from the deeper dermis and create a blister.

Thank you for your question. We use surgery tables which can be folded up into a chair, and this is just to bend the patient a little to reduce the tension on the incision when closing the incision. I hope this helps.

Thank you for the photographs. It does appear a bit of center but this may be better once all the swelling is gone and healing is complete.  I would re-evaluate it then.  The necessary treatment if it is off center is worse than the belly button position. Dr. ES

The Mons is capable of taking on a lot of fluid due to swelling after abdominoplasty. Over time it will decrease. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Seromas occasionally correct abdominoplasty is properly treated with serial aspiration it should have no effect on the appearance of the abdominoplasty. Inadequately treated seromas can lead to a chronic problem that can leave a lump in might require a second operation.
