Temporary veneers dark at the top, is this a bad sign? (Photo)

I've had my 6 temporary veneers for 4 days, and today I noticed that the top of 4 of them have a darkish appearance that wasnt there before, right under my gums. Is this normal for temporaries? What caused this? Is this a bad sign that the finals will potentially have issues?

No need to worry about this.  It looks as though you are getting a little leakage under the temporaries and this is normal considering they are not bonded in.  Once the final veneers are placed that should no longer be present.

Temporary veneers can change color, stain, come off and can chip. They are not like your permanent porcelain veneers with stable color.
The dark color can be due to bleeding gums and the clotting of the blood or possibly if you started with a dark root canaled tooth!
Have your cosmetic dentist check that as soon as possible to give you what you want.

It is very common for temporary veneers to discolor in the mouth as the fit of the temporaries are not as intimate against the tooth as the final veneers will be.

Hello and thank-you for your question. It is normal for temporary dental veneers to darken at the top as they are made from an acrylic material and can stain quite quickly. Once your new porcelain veneers are placed, you shouldn't have an issue, just make sure that you are happy with the color and fit before your new porcelain veneers are cemented and bonded into place. Hi:Normally temporaries discolor rather qucikly in the mouth.  This may not be anything significant.  However if you are very concern, contact your dentist and share your concern.Best,Dr. Maddahi

Temporaries sometimes stain as they are more porous than final veneers. They pick up coffee and wine stains. This has no effect on the final result.  Once your final veneers are placed (if properly maintained) you should not have this issue.Best of luck!
