How long after radio frequency mole removal do I need to wait before starting dermarolling?

Question

I had radio frequency 1 week ago to smooth out edges from previous mole removals on my face (via shave excision). No deep cutting of the dermis was involved. I want to start dermarolling to even out the tone and texture after these heal but I don't want to cause worse damage. I am also using silicone scar sheets at night on the spots where the scabs have fallen off and I am awaiting an RX for PracaSil silicone gel. How long should I wait to start dermarolling and what length needles are advised?

I recommend following up with your Doctor about appropriate mole removal after care. I don't recommend using a dermaroller yourself due to the risk of complications. To improve skin after mole removal, I recommend microneedling with prp and lasers for best outcomes. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Dermarolling/microneedling can help with the healing process after RF. However, it is very important that you consult with your doctor who performed the RF treatments. Any dermarolling you do should be part of a comprehensive treatment plan. It is important that you have healed sufficiently from the RF treatment prior to any additional treatment. An inperson evaluation would be necessary to ensure that you can safely move to the next treatment in your plan.
