2 weeks post op Botox between my eyebrows, I still feel pain on top of my head. Is this normal?

I received Botox between my eyebrows and when he injected the one over my right eyebrow it hit a nerve where it felt like it shot up electricity to my head(on top of my head) today is exactly 2 weeks and once in awhile I still get that pain on top of my head that's freaking me out. Just want to make sure it's normal. I know it doesn't happen all the time but it did to me unfortunately.

Sometimes when Botox is injected between the eyebrows or on the forehead, one of the sensory nerves can get irritated from the needle and it will cause an electric shooting sensation to the top of the head.  There is no damage to the nerve but there can be some pain at the top of the head on and off for several weeks.  It will go away completely over a little more time.

It is rare to have pain after BOTOX.  Sometimes patients have headaches after botox injections, other times a sensory nerve may have been touched by the injection needle and this is not irritated and causing pain.  Anti-inflammatory medication should help.

Likely a nerve was irritated and this should resolve on its own.  Its rare to happen, but if it does and the pain is still there after a few weeks, oral gabapentin can be helpful with anti-inflammatories such as Aleve.  Speak to your physician.  Best, Dr. Emer.

This doesn't happen very often but when it does, it's rotten. Anytime an injection is done a nerve can be hit. It can cause a bit of pain for a bit, several weeks, but it does go away and it's not anything to worry about. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and

When injections are done the surgeon has no direct visibility of nerves so it is possible to go near a nerve and it happens.  The good news is that the discomfort you are experiencing will go away.   My Best,  Dr C
