I'm 3 weeks post op. Surgery I developed MH and couldn't breath and vomited until taken back in operating room 6 hours later with blood clot of left side. I have noticed that the breasts are triangular shaped toward under arm? Does this go away? Also each side has a piece of skin that looks like an extra nipple. Not sure if this is normal? im still dizzy and naseauos Will this settle down?
Answer: Potential skin excision in the future Thank you for your inquiry and sharing your photos. Congratulations on your surgery. They used on your description and the photos, it seems that you have developed what is known as "dog ears". Those free standing skin- gatherings at the edges of long closures of wounds could be easily excised under local anesthesia after you achieve an acceptable level of healing.I recommend you keep communicating with your surgeon and follow his or her instructions diligently to achieve the best results possible. Please stay positive and the best of luck to you.

Answer: 3 weeks post op, I gave triangle shape to breast and looks like extra nipple. Is this normal? Thank you for your questions and photographs. I am sorry to hear that you have had such post operative issues from your breast augmentation and lift. It appears that the triangular shape to your breasts and the extra skin is the result of dog-ears. These are areas of extra skin that occur when the length of two incisions are not even. Because of your symptoms, and how recently out from surgery you are, I would anticipate both of these issues to improve, if not correct themselves given enough time, around 6 months or more after surgery. If any of this extra skin remains after that time, a small office procedure can be done to remove the skin for you. Best of luck in your recovery.

Answer: 3 weeks postop, "triangular shaped" toward the underarms, and a piece of skin that looks like an extra nipple. The bump on the sides of your breasts that you describe are "standing cones" or "dog ears."This skin deformity results from the gathering of skin at the end of an incision after wound closure. Dog-ears commonly occur at the end of a long wound closure after an ellipitical excision of tissue. The center part of closure is the tightest, the ends are the loosest. Frequently, they occur after tummy tucks, lifts and reductions, and any other large elliptical skin removals. When seen, they are excised and closed so that incision lays flat. This often will extend the length of the incision. With reduced swelling and skin stretch the dog ear becomes less obvious in about 3 months. Otherwise, dog ears can be improved by their excision. By removing the extra skin and some underlying fat, the tail of the incision will lay (more) flat. This excision can be done as an office procedure under local anesthesias in most cases.Any information in the publications, messages, postings, articles, online courses on the website should not be considered a substitute for consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon to address individual medical needs. Your particular facts and circumstances will determine the plastic surgery treatment which is most appropriate for you.
